The Paragliding Nationals in New Zealand is dedicated to providing a world-class competition that balances safety, fairness, and fun for pilots of all skill levels. With two levels of expertise—catering to both seasoned competitors and emerging talent—we aim to foster skill development, camaraderie, and sportsmanship in an exhilarating yet controlled environment.
Set against Nelson’s breathtaking landscapes, our event prioritises pilot safety, responsible flying, and a welcoming community spirit, ensuring that every participant experiences the thrill of flight in a professional and enjoyable atmosphere.
The dates and location for the 2026 PG Nationals have been confirmed.
A 7-day Category 2 competition will be run from Saturday 31st January to Friday 6th February 2026.
The New Zealand 2026 Paragliding Nationals will consist of 2 simultaneous events; the NZ Open (this will be a category 2 event) and the NZ Fun Competition (an event for pilots new to competition who want a less challenging environment to gain experience and be in the sky with the best).
We will be based in Nelson with headquarters at McCashins in Stoke.
